Andrew Cuomo and Sandra Lee, a television chef and writer, met at a Hamptons summer party in 2005 after being introduced by Alexandra Stanton, one of Lee’s best friends and Cuomo’s former assistant, people reported. They date from 14 years, and then decay in September 2019.
In 2011, Cuomo became governor of New York, making Lee the de facto first lady of the state. They mixed their lives and lived in Chappakua and Pokeepsy. One of their most famous houses was six bedroom property nicknamed Lily Pond Lee bought herself, but Cuomo shared the costs. They also spent time in Albany, the state capital, where Governor Cuomo’s mansion is located.
In early 2019, the couple listed Lily Pond, which sparked rumors of a breakup. However, Lee denied that they broke up in May of that year. “Andrew and I are still very together … We keep our lives as confidential as possible,” she wrote on Facebook at the time.
