Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Anthony Chickillo faces several criminal charges after being arrested early Sunday. WTAE.com, citing a police source, reported the alleged altercation with the woman.
According to court documents, Chickillo was arrested by the Pennsylvania State Police and charged with common assault, property damage and harassment. The 26-year-old was released on a $ 10,000 unsecured bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 30th.
The team's spokesperson, Burt Lauten, said his team was aware of the incident and was continuing to gather information. Chickillo, a five-year veteran, has a tackle and a half-sack in three games for the Steelers this season, playing mostly in special teams.
The Steelers have not played this week. The players were given the weekend by the team. Pittsburgh must resume training on Monday. The Steelers (2-4) will host a winless win in Miami on October 28th.
