The biggest risk facing the stock market in the coming year isn’t trade jitters or the election, Deutsche Bank warns

Investors will have a lot of stress in the coming year, and the last list of the 20 largest risks of Deutsche Bank chief economist Torsten Slock will help little to eliminate these concerns.

As you can see, the potential for a larger recession in trade and concerns about a slowdown are still in first place on the Slock list, but inequality comes first:

“They are all important on different horizons,” Slock told MarketWatch on Sunday, “but the continued rise in inequality and the associated political response is something that investors can no longer ignore.”

Democratic presidential candidates, of course, do not ignore this. Raising taxes on the rich, in an attempt to narrow the gap, is an important part of the campaigns of Senators Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders ahead of the election.

Large investors have already made clear what President Warren can mean for markets. Billions Paul Tudor Jones, Leon Cooperman and Steve Cohen all talked about unpleasant correction this may follow her victory.

Climate change: Airlines accused of ‘putting profit before planet’

A British Airways whistleblower demonstrated industry-wide practices that intentionally increase the weight of flights by increasing greenhouse gas emissions.

“Fueling” means aircraft refueled with additional fuel, usually so as not to pay higher prices for refueling at destination airports.

This may mean additional annual emissions equivalent to those of a big city.

BA said it was customary to transport extra fuel for “operational, safety, and cost considerations.”

The BBC Panorama found that the airline’s planes produced an additional 18,000 tons of carbon dioxide last year through refueling.

Savings on one flight can be as little as around £ 10, although savings can be as high as hundreds of pounds.

Researchers estimate that one in five of all European flights engage some fueling element.

Practicing on European routes may result in additional annual greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to those produced by a city with a population of 100,000.

Critics say the widespread use of this practice undermines the aviation industry’s claim that it seeks to reduce its carbon footprint.

John Sauven, Executive Director of Greenpeace UK, told the BBC that this is "a classic example of how a company puts profits in front of the planet."

He added: “That's why we cannot afford another decade of faith in corporate green water and the expectation of voluntary carbon reductions.”

“We need tough rules to limit aviation emissions, because as long as there is money for pollution, they will pollute as much as they can.”

John Soven called for rules and regulations to be tougher

International Airlines Group (IAG), the BA-owned company, says it wants to become the world's leading airline for sustainable development.

BA can even boast of printing its logbook on lighter paper to save weight.

Yet the BBC Panorama saw dozens of BA internal documents that show that up to six tons of additional fuel were loaded onto airplanes in this way.

Airlines can save money because aviation fuel prices vary across European destinations.

Receive the income

BA insiders say the company, like many short-haul airlines in Europe, has computer software that calculates whether you can save on fueling.

The software will calculate whether cost savings will be achieved. If so, the teams load extra fuel.

An example of the documents shown by Panorama shows that a recent BA flight to Italy delivered nearly three tons of extra fuel.

The extra weight meant that the plane emitted more than 600 kg of additional carbon dioxide – the same emissions for which one person is responsible for the return flight to New York.

Saving on this trip was less than £ 40, but Panorama documents show that it could be even lower than this.

IAG made an annual profit of € 2.9 billion (£ 2.6 billion) in 2018, about 80 percent of which came from BA.

The BA insider called this practice "hypocritical."

“For such a large company, an attempt to save such a small amount while emitting so much additional CO2 seems unjustified in the current environment,” he said.

BA said it was common practice for the airline industry to transport extra fuel on some flights.

The airline said that for BA this applies mainly to short-distance destinations "where there are significant price differences between European airports."

It states that additional emissions from an airline account for approximately two percent of the total additional emissions produced by all airlines refueling in Europe, according to Eurocontrol studies.

& # 39; In doubt & # 39;

BA noted that since 2012, all flights within Europe are covered by the EU emissions trading system.

He added that starting in 2020, the company will offset all CO2 emissions from UK domestic flights.

Eurocontrol, the body that coordinates air traffic control in Europe, estimates that tanker shipments in Europe burned 286,000 tons of additional fuel each year and emitted an additional 901,000 tons of carbon dioxide.

According to his calculations, the practice saved airlines a total of 265 million euros per year.

Eurocontrol called this practice “dubious” at a time when aviation is disputed for its contribution to climate change.

But a BA informant said: “I have been a BA employee for a long time.

“I'm very proud to be part of BA, but to be honest, it makes me sad and disappointed.”

Panorama: can green fly? is on BBC1 at 20:30 GMT on November 11th.

The unemployment rate for recent college graduates is getting worse

While other trends in the labor market are favorable, new graduates are more likely to be unemployed than the working population of the base US. This has not happened in the data of the New York Fed for 1990.

While the unemployment rate among all college graduates under the age of 65 (blue line) tends to decrease – currently close to the lowest level in the current economic cycle – the market for recent college graduates (red) reflects the general trend.

Against the backdrop of a strong labor market in the United States, this is “an important and alarming trend that needs to be observed because it has never dropped to the previous lows of the cycle,” writes DataTrek's Jessica Rabe in a note. "Although those who graduate from college are usually hired earlier than less educated workers."

Rates are calculated as a 12-month moving average. Recent college graduates are defined as individuals between the ages of 22 and 27 with a bachelor's degree or higher.

The chart above shows how unemployment among recent college graduates rises from 3.8% in May to 4% in September. In contrast, the unemployment rate among workers in September was 3.6%.

RSM chief economist Joe Bruceuelas told Yahoo Finance that the reason for the red line of “upward migration” was a lack of skill.

“We were late in the business cycle, so it attracted everyone's attention,” he explained. “There is some concern about the unemployment rate … (but), which may be more related to the level of experience and difficulties in finding entry-level jobs right now for the educated class.”

According to Bruceuelas, it is difficult for young graduates due to lack of experience and appropriate education. “This is a mismatch of skills,” he said. "(And) this is possibly a significant employment in this group."

McDonald’s addict loses almost 100 pounds without giving up McNuggets

Diet does not mean giving up your favourite dish (but that means having a lot less).

A woman from Talladega, Alabama, said she lost more than 90 pounds without giving up her favorite food. Instead, she focused on portion control and reportedly halved her calorie intake.

Jessica Dotson lost an impressive 98 pounds in nine months after changing her diet. She still allowed herself to eat McNuggets, although she switched from ordering 20 to 6.
(Kennedy News and Media)

Jessica Dotson constantly ate McNuggets from 20 slices and a large french fries from McDonalds, The sun reports.

“I could eat a box of McNugget chicken with 20 slices and a big french fries,” she explained to the news outlet. It was mainly gluttony, just eat and eat. I had McDonalds almost every day. Food was my survival mechanism, so whenever I was upset about something, I just ate. ”

Before changing her diet, Dotson ate fast food twice a day and weighed about 250 pounds.

After giving birth to a second baby and problems with high blood pressure during both pregnancies, she decided to make a change. At 26, Dotson reportedly weighed more than 250 pounds.

She decided to try the 16: 8 diet, which includes eating only during the eight-hour window, and then fasting at the other 16 hours of the day. In addition to changing eating habits, she also reduced her daily calorie intake by almost half.

NFL Rumors: Amazon’s Jeff Bezos Interested in Purchasing NFL Team | Bleacher Report

MANDEL NGAN / Getty Images

Amazon tycoon Jeff Bezos is reportedly interested in acquiring Nfl team and has supporters in the circles of owners.

Jason La Canforta CBS Sports reported interest the richest man in the worldAlthough there is no sales team yet. La Canfora noted that the Seattle Seahawks will be sold after the death of the late owner Paul Allen, and the NFL has a “concern” about the Denver Broncos ownership situation.

Bezos has a net worth of over 110 billion dollarsmaking even the most expensive NFL franchise a relative clatter to its general checkbook. He is one of the few people on earth who could buy an NFL franchise for cash, making him an attractive potential league owner.

Washington's owner Dan Snyder has reportedly become close to Bezos, who is in the process of moving to the country's capital. Snyder tried for years and could not find funding for a new stadium in the city. FedExField is located in Landover, Maryland, approximately 10 miles from the District of Columbia.

La Canforta noted that there is a possibility that Bezos could help Snyder in his quest to build a new stadium.

Amazon already has a partnership with the NFL to broadcast football Thursday night. Perhaps Bezos will continue to expand his relationship with the league from a business perspective, rather than becoming the owner himself. League television contracts are under review, and the NFL could go deeper into the streaming game with a more exclusive, long-term partnership with Amazon.

Goldman faces probe after entrepreneur slams Apple Card algorithm in tweets

BENGALURU (Reuters) – A Goldman Sachs Group Inc credit card practice study was launched after tweets from a tech entrepreneur claimed gender discrimination in the new Apple Inc card algorithms used to set credit limits. In a series of Twitter posts starting Thursday, David Heinmeier Hansson opposed the Apple Card for giving him the 20-fold credit limit his wife received, Bloomberg said on Saturday.

Hansson, who is the creator of the Ruby on Rails web application platform, did not disclose any specific income information for himself or his wife, but said that they filed joint tax returns and that his wife had a higher credit rating, the report said. The New York City Department of Financial Services has confirmed that an investigation is underway. Andrew Williams, spokesman for Goldman Sachs, declined to comment on whether Hansson had contacted Goldman about issues raised on Twitter because the bank did not discuss issues regarding individual customers publicly.

The Apple Card, released in August, is Goldman's first credit card. Wall Street Investment Bank offers its customers more products, including personal loans and savings accounts, through its Marcus online bank.

The Department of Financial Services "will conduct an investigation to determine whether New York State law has been violated and to ensure equal treatment of all consumers, regardless of gender," a spokeswoman for the agency said in an interview with Reuters.

“Any algorithm that intentionally or not leads to discriminatory treatment of women or any other protected class violates New York law.”

The iPhone manufacturer claims that the card will be synchronized with the Apple Wallet of iPhone users and can be used to purchase Apple products at a discount.

Tesla Gigafactory Economies of Scale Just Starting to Show in Tesla Financials

The biggest threat to Tesla's existence not there were the so-called “Tesla killers” from competitors, but rather Tesla’s dependence on capital markets to finance its growth. The lack of sustainable profits forced the company to rely on financial markets to regularly increase capital and debt to finance its activities.

This financial dependence – along with Tesla's high volatility – makes the company an attractive destination for short sellers. Data from MarketBeat shows that by October 15, 2019, a week before the publication of Tesla's third-quarter earnings, Tesla's huge 36.06 million shares were short.

In dollar terms, a short pile of Tesla was worth a steep $ 12.15 billion, nearly double the sales compared to Netflix (NFLX).

Tesla third quarter results showed that the gross margin of the electric vehicle manufacturer increased as the average selling price slowed down. It is no coincidence that Tesla had only two profitable quarters until 2018 and three profitable quarters in the last seven quarters. If my Q4 forecast for Tesla comes true, Tesla can reach a 50% level of impact – four out of eight profitable quarters.

Tesla's car trip should be divided into two periods: until 2018 and after. In 2017, Tesla delivered 103,000 vehicles, an increase to 245,000 units in 2018. Tesla plans to ship between 360,000 and 400,000 units this year. Even if Tesla manages to reach the bottom line of its leadership, it will mean that Tesla increased production by 3.5 times in two years.

Gigafactory Tesla in China, with its planned initial capacity of 150,000 units, is expected to be online soon, which will further increase Tesla's total capacity. If a fivefold increase in capacity over three years does not have any significant effect on the gross and operating margins of a manufacturing company, then nothing else will happen.

“The economies of scale are the economic advantage that companies get when production becomes efficient, as costs can be allocated to more products.” – Wiki

The increase in production has already begun to pay dividends for Tesla in the form of markups, as evidenced by the Tesla report for the third quarter of 2019. But besides volume, there is one factor that is often overlooked, it is the cost of labor and construction in China.

According to Statista, “In 2018, manufacturing labor costs in China were estimated at $ 5.51 in hour. By comparison, the minimum wage per hour in California was $ 11 in 2018. According to Tesla, Shanghai Gigafactory "is about 65% It’s cheaper to build than the Model 3 facility in Fremont, California, USA.

The Chinese car market is bigger than the United States, and Tesla cars will be cheaper. A quick visit to the Tesla China website reveals that Tesla rated Model 3 Made in China for only 3% lower than its price in the united states.

Model 3, deployed on the Chinese Gigafactory Tesla, will be eligible for EV subsidies and will not be subject to the current 15% tariff on imported cars. Tesla can transfer some of its savings to its Chinese customers as volumes increase. However, it is unlikely that we will see a big difference in prices between sticker prices in the United States and China.

Simply put, the economic benefits of increasing production in China will find its way to Tesla's bottom line. Let's not forget that the next launch of Tesla, Model Y, will share almost three-quarters of its components with Model 3. This will help further reduce costs at the Tesla Fremont plant.

Tesla third quarter earnings not flash in the pan. They are a sign of change.

We interrupt Black Friday for the best Singles Day 2019 deals available now

The Global Shopping Festival 11/11, or, in short, Singles Day, generates more online sales than Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Prime Day combined.

James Martin / CNET

With almost Last year alone, retail sales totaled $ 31 billion. The annual global shopping festival 11/11 in China is now more than Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Cyber monday and weekend in between combined, Adobe Analytics predicts that Thanksgiving's five-day weekend this year will bring retail sales of around $ 29 billion, both online and in stores. So why did so few Americans even hear about dating?

The history of the world's largest shopping day of the year begins with a much smaller, more lonely figure – the number 1. An unofficial Chinese holiday, celebrated on November 11, began as the Day of the Lonely in 1993, when students at Nanjing University In the Chinese province of Jiangsu, lone parties began to be held to counter the negative social stigma associated with loneliness. Since it was a holiday designed to unite the single, they chose the date with the largest 1s – 11/11 – to celebrateAnd it only grew from there, especially after Chinese retail giants Alibaba and JD were overloaded in the later online era – right up to the inclusion of the giant Taylor Swift Concert Download.

So far, efforts to internationalize a big shopping day have not been successful – date – Veterans Day in the United States, Armistice Day in Europe. How Singles Day has become so big in China

Like many holidays, whose non-profit origin has since been used in retail, the marketing potential of Singles Day has not been left unattended for long. In 2009, Daniel Zhang, CEO of the Chinese e-commerce giant Alibabatriggered what soon became a raging consumer hell when he renamed Singles Day Global Shopping Festival 11/11, By lowering prices for everything from clothes and jewelry to household appliances and electronics in just 24 hours – and receive more than two dozen other sellers to do the same “Zhang turned Solitary Day from a relatively obscure campus tradition almost overnight into a lucrative juggernaut.”

Now, a decade later, the number of participating suppliers has increased from 27 over 180,000 Chinese and international brandsAssuming the event continues to show a double-digit year-on-year growth trend, this Singles Day will set another world sales record on the same day, which could approach or even exceed the $ 40 billion mark.

money-cash-dollars-price-shopping-black-friday-9950

Online sales on Black Friday reached $ 6.22 billion in 2018, but on single-player day sales reached nearly $ 31 billion.

James Martin / CNET

For comparison: last year's Black Friday and Cyber Monday resulted in $ 6.22 billion and $ 7.8 billion in online sales, respectively, Amazon does not disclose accurate prime day sales data, but the company said gross revenue from 2019's 48-hour event exceeded retailer numbers for Black Friday 2018 and Cyber Monday combinedEven so, it is difficult to compete with the purchasing power that 1.4 billion Chinese citizens bring on Lonely Day.

The biggest sale no one has heard of

However, despite being Single & # 39; s Day as the reigning king of one-day purchases, surprisingly few of the more than 1.5 billion idle sales transactions processed outside of Asia. Despite the fact that Alibaba's CEO has expressed a desire in recent years to expand participation worldwide, Western merchants and consumers have been slow to jump aboard. According to Adobe Analytics, only about 24% of US retailers say they plan to hold promotions that day.

At least one of the possible obstacles in the USA is that Singles Day falls on an already deep-rooted American holiday: Veterans Day. Not only are some U.S. retailers already selling out on Veteran’s Day, the solemnity and patriotism that most Americans associate with Veteran’s Day do not exactly match the rampant consumer spirit of the 11/11 Global Shopping Festival and synocentric origins. (The same is true in Europe, where this day is celebrated as Armistice Day, the end of World War I.)

save-money-shopping-online.jpg

Most of the promotion on Black Friday takes place in ordinary stores, but Single Day, like Cyber Monday, is primarily online shopping.

Alina Bradford / CNET

How To Find Offers For Dating In The USA

However, participation is gradually expanding, and several companies based or conducting business in the United States are already promoting discounts and sales dedicated to the Singles Day. Unlike many Black Friday retailers, Single Day retailers often start promoting discounts until the day of the sale, so you can see the days and weeks preceding Singles Day and then complete the purchase on November 11th. ,

Please note that some sales by retailers based in China may be limited to a 24-hour period starting at midnight on November 11, Beijing time, i.e. 8am Pacific time on November 10.

EBay Brand Store Offers 20% Discount

Earlier this year, eBay launched the store-in-store concept, which he calls company outlet, Well-known brands like Adidas, Cuisinart, DysonRai Ban and more. Now, until November 11, the promotional code Jumbo20 will apply a 20% discount on any items added to your basket from the company store.

The store that started it all: AliExpress

The vast majority of Singles Day discounts available to buyers in the States will be offered by two outlets, one of which AliExpressEnglish-language website operated by Chinese retailer Alibaba. Its sale begins at midnight on November 11th.

In addition to several well-known manufacturers, such as Huawei, SanDisk, and Anker, most of the brands you'll see on AliExpress will be unfamiliar to Americans. But if you have everything in order, if you risk products produced by companies with names such as Yi, Bluedio, Mifa and Amazfit – and be patient to wait a few weeks until the parcel arrives from half the world – you can win such like wireless headphones for less than $ 13, 4K action cameras for less than $ 32, or video intercoms up to $ 22 – and these are the usual everyday prices. Expect even deeper discounts on Singles Day.

China's Largest Seller, English Edition: Joybuy

The largest Chinese retailer, JD.com, has become the second company to join Alibaba to promote Singles Day as the 11/11 Worldwide Shopping Festival, and is the second of two major directories to offer American consumers direct sales on Singles Day through an English-language website. JoybuyJoybuy adheres to Beijing time, so its sale will begin at 8 a.m. PST on November 10 and will last until 7:59 p.m. PST on November 11 in the United States.

Compared to AliExpress, JoyBuy has several more well-known brands in stock, such as Phillips, jacuzzi as well as Lenovoand, as a rule, the products presented on the site look a little higher quality, but the prices reflect this difference, approaching much more similar products available on Amazon or eBay. Discounts for Singles Day, however, can change this equation, so keep an eye on JoyBuy.com as you approach Singles Day.

Late to the game, but still a key player: Amazon

Despite the fact that Amazon set up landing page for Singles Day which specifically refers to clothing, shoes and jewelry, the self-proclaimed “shop for everything” is not yet crowded with any actual offers related to Singles Day. Currently, if you click on the Amazon Singles Day link, you will only see a list of products “related to the products you viewed” and “Gift ideas inspired by your shopping history” – this is probably where Amazon will highlight Day Singles Day special offers. when they become available.

Last year’s one-day offers, we can see again

  • Happy socks: Last year, they offered a 30% discount on gift boxes and free delivery for any order that included a gift box.
  • L & # 39; OccitaneLast year, they offered cosmetic duets for $ 11 and a free set of 11 makeup items for any purchase worth $ 111.
  • City Outfitters: Last year they offered 11% of everything on the site.
  • Totokaelo: Last year, they offered 11% for certain goods.

Bitcoin Price Likely to Fall to Low-$8,000s as Chart Remains Weak

On Friday, the Bitcoin (BTC) market turned out to be the worst. Leading cryptocurrency like reported on this exitin just a few hours, from $ 9,250 to $ 8,700, and the bulls lack strength.

Although bearish pressure has stopped since Bitcoin found some support at $ 8,850. When the short-term downtrend ended, analysts say the cryptocurrency market remains on low ice. They argue that this can only be a matter of time before the bears bring cryptography to a minimum of $ 8,000, and possibly even lower.

Analysts warn Bitcoin could slip away

Popular Twitter Analyst Neko recently observed Bitcoin's short-term four-hour candlestick chart remains quite bearish. In his last tweet, he noted that the “bullish volume” of Bitcoin looks extremely weak and that BTC has broken key support at $ 9,000, which means a further drop. He added that on Mondays, usually “bloody,” a drop of $ 8,000 is quite possible.

Neko is not the only analyst expecting to see more pain. Bloomberg reported that a strong bearish follow-up is likely in the article entitled “Bitcoin breakthrough below $ 9,000 risk erasing inspired by Xi Rally”, Bloomberg wrote with reference to the table below:

The divergence indicator GTI Vera Convergence shows a narrowing gap between the signal line and the vera lines, which suggests a trend change on the horizon. If this happens, the largest digital currency could re-test the lows seen before its rampant growth following comments by Chinese President Xi Jinping in October.

In other words, if a bull trend changes, BTC could fall again to $ 7300It was here that Bitcoin traded before Chinese leader President Xi praised the blockchain in a political setting.

Peter Schiff, the famous golden bug, threw his weight for that feeling. After Friday's fall, Schiff wrote that “it looks like the bitcoin pump is finally over,” before adding that we should “get ready for the landfill.” Schiff did not stop there. He later wrote that “Bitcoin never get $ 100,000 apparently in an effort to shatter the hopes and dreams of the encouraging industry.

While Schiff did not explain his rationale in this last tweet, he is quoted as saying that BTC is an unreliable accumulator of value and inappropriate investment, especially when it is associated with precious metals.

Waffle House customers help stranded employee by washing dishes, taking orders

When the Waffle House restaurant had few employees, the nightly customers kindly took over, taking orders and laying out tables.

The unique scene in Birmingham, Alabama was photographed on November 2 by patron Ethan Crispo, who stopped at a restaurant around 12:30 in the morning to order breakfast. “It was incredible to watch,” says Crispo Yahoo Lifestyle.

That evening, the restaurant was occupied by approximately 25 visitors – and only one employee named Ben, according to Crispo, was speechless and stunned. “He just looked at a room full of people. I can’t imagine what he was thinking.

According to Crispo, a man in a blue shirt sitting in a bar spoke briefly with Ben and after a few seconds slipped into the apron. “He started washing dishes,” says Crispo Yahoo Lifestyle.

Placing his order with Ben, Crispo asked: “Where is your help tonight?” And Ben replied that his staff did not appear. He added that the man in the blue shirt was a paying customer.

Ten minutes later, when Ben was cooking in the kitchen, a client in a strapless dress and high heels got up and began to lay out tables, serve orders and make coffee, patiently deciphering a coffee machine in a restaurant style. “When a woman came to my table, she said that she was with friends that night,” Crispo says.

And Crispo says that the third client eventually got up from his food to intervene.

Pat Warner, director of public relations and external affairs at Waffle House, tells Yahoo Lifestyle: “We had two employees who were supposed to leave, but because of the confusion in communication, their relief did not immediately appear. Some customers came at the counter to help the only one who cooked and served food. Buyers turned on the tables, one put on his apron and washed the dishes. He did a great job. We would like for him to fill out an application and, possibly, officially join our team. ”

Warner added: “We value the efforts of customers, but we prefer our partners to be off the counter. Our concept works best when we serve the customer, and not vice versa. ”

Crispo says the helpful customers were upbeat, singing and humming as they made their way through the restaurant. “There was a real sense of community,” he explains.

And when Crispo asked Ben why he didn’t jump from the ship when he was stuck, Ben replied, “This is not right.”
